I’m Jess….

I created The Green Kind as a place to celebrate a slower, more thoughtful way of living. It’s a journal inspired by nature, local places and the people who make them special—a space to explore sustainable living, discover independent makers and embrace the changing seasons.

My hope is that these stories encourage you to look a little closer at the world around you and find beauty in the places you already know.


What’s the Green Kind about?

For a long time, I found myself drawn to a simpler way of life. One where weekends weren’t always about travelling further, buying more or rushing through the seasons, but about slowing down enough to notice what was already around me.

I wanted to create a place that celebrates living more locally, more sustainably and more intentionally—not through perfection, but through curiosity and small, meaningful choices.

I believe sustainability doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

Sometimes it starts with choosing local, buying less, supporting independent businesses or taking the scenic route home.
